After five years in operation, the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation’s Operational policy 13 for recreation within public drinking water source areas on Crown Land is being reviewed and updated.
Since the policy’s implementation in 2012, the department has listened to feedback from the community, interest groups and other agencies, and proposed some changes to the policy.
A draft updated policy with accompanying discussion paper has been released for public comment over the next eight weeks, ending at 5pm 3 August 2018.

People with an interest in recreational activities in these areas, are invited to attend a public workshop being held during the consultation period at the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
