The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (the department) has implemented a Policy Framework initiative to classify all documents across our business areas into a clear and structured document hierarchy and governance model.
This framework distinguishes between documents that specify:
- mandatory requirements
- those that provide high level departmental policy positions
- other documents that provide procedural guidance or information on technical and legal matters and the work of the department.
The Policy Framework page provides further information on how the department and our stakeholders should apply our documents based on where they sit in the framework's hierarchy.
As part of this project, the department is also reviewing its suite of documents to determine which documents should be updated in the future to better align the content into the hierarchy.
The following tables list our industry regulation, native vegetation regulation and water regulation policy, guideline, and procedure documents, based on where they fit into the hierarchy.
|Industry Regulation||Native Vegetation Clearing||Water|
|Procedure: Prescribed premises works approvals and licences||Procedure: Native vegetation clearing permits||Procedure: Water licences and permits|
|Guideline: Annual Audit Compliance Reports|
