The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation manages Western Australia’s environment and the environmental impacts of emissions and discharges from prescribed premises through the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (EP Act) and the Environmental Protection Regulations 1987 (EP Regulations).

The following information provides guidance on the processes undertaken by the department to assess applications for works approvals and licences under Part V Division 3 of the EP Act, and manage any consequently granted instruments.
